I am in need of serious help. we have a Dlink bring DAP-1522. how can i connect it o a lynksis router that connects to my laptop.
Your post is very vague on exactly what you want to do. That being said, I’ll try and give some help. Are you trying to do something like this? robot <–> dlink <> linksys router <–> laptop? where <–> is a wired connection and <> is a wireless connection?
Edit: Are you trying to get wireless communications with the robot? If so you don’t need to use the linksys at all, as you can set up the Dlink as an access point and connect directly to that (“This is the recommended operating mode when teams are developing their robots at home”, from the Getting Started With the 2013 Control System pdf on the Kit of Parts website, page 23).

If you really want to have a laptop-connected router in the mix, you can do it. Set the D-Link to “bridge” mode and configure it to connect to the router’s SSID.
Why do you want to do that? Does your laptop not have wireless networking capability?
To clarify Alan’s post, the typical setup is “robot <–> DAP-1522 <~~> laptop”. Unless your laptop lacks wireless capabilities, this would be the easiest way to program and operate your robot from a laptop.

Our team has always used a router. It expands the range of the wireless at least two-fold, making it much easier to operate the robot at community events or during driver’s practice. I would also be interested in an answer to 1605’s question. We had no problems connecting using the Robot<->DLink<~>Router<->DS setup before the 2013 driver’s station, but now we cannot connect at all. Haven’t done much troubleshooting yet though, will update tomorrow after I figure it out.
