If you have a managed windows device that has the Microsoft Store blocked by group policy, is there a way to download a Windows installer (ie a .exe file) for the latest version of Phoenix Tuner X
You can download any .appx from this website, and should be able to install it (assuming that isn’t also blocked). That being said, it may be worth it to try ask your IT to “open” your device if you find other necessary functionality is also blocked.
The CSA USB tool should have it eventually. For now, there’s a link to the 2023 version in last year’s CSV.
We eventually plan on adding Tuner X to our offline installer, but we had to delay it until after kickoff due to other priorities. Until then, you may be able to install Tuner X using winget install "Phoenix Tuner X"
in PowerShell.
Note that the 2023 Tuner X may not function correctly with the 2024 API and firmware, and the firmware year and version selector may not be functional (i.e. you would have to manually download and select firmware files).
Thanks for the info everyone.
Thankfully I’m local admin on the PC in question so I was able to get around the blocked access to the Microsoft store by temporarily deleting a registry key at
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore
I’m sure the reg key will come back the next time the device gets a GP update on the school network, but at least I got the software installed.
@tails618 I tried that web site and it listed a whole bunch of files. Unfortunately, too many for me to work out what I was supposed to do with them.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Just wanted to provide an update that 24.2.0 is released that bundles Tuner in the installer.
