Help with Coding a Cheesecake Element

We are a LabVIEW team. We need help with coding a cheesecake item in Java and/or C++. We have built a spare AndyMark Climber-in-a-box as a possible cheesecake item to use at an upcoming Regional. It has a 775 pro, a Spark motor controller, at least one limit switch when the climber is fully retracted, and will be using PWM to connect the motor controller to the RoboRio.

We have very limited experience with Java and could use some help from someone with vast experience in writing the Java code in such a way that we could help, for example, a rookie team, that doesn’t have a climber on their robot add in this mechanism. We feel confident in our ability to install our “need a lift?” mechanism and integrate it into another robots frame, just not so much when it comes to integrate it with their Java code.

Does anyone want to help us make an elegant solution in java to accomplish this goal? Thanks in advance.

Per I101, “The ROBOT and its MAJOR MECHANISMS must be built by the FIRST
Robotics Competition team.” It’s seemingly not in keeping with this rule to install and integrate a climber onto an alliance partner’s robot.

This might be a bit of a grey area, with the blue box citing COTS items as pieces that would not be considered major mechanisms, but your team installing the mechanism and providing code to the receiving team would likely constitute a violation of this rule.
