We’re trying to use the CTRE swerve generator and yesterday we had to downgrade all of our firmware and rio image and the vendor library to 2024 in order to be compatible with the code generated by Phoenix Tuner X. It looks to still be using the 2024 swerve library. From what I’ve read people have been using the Preview app to generate 2025 code, but it tells us it’s not available for the 2025 season when we open it. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling both apps several times. Am I missing a release somewhere that isn’t on the microsoft store? Is the PC bugging and not showing the update? Or are we in some unlucky window where the 2025 app is not available yet? I don’t want to move forward with pathplanner and tuning and such before we are able to use the 2025 library.
tl;dr swerve code generated by phoenix tuner is from 2024, how do we get access to a tuner version compatible with 2025
Well what we did is download the 2025 Tuner Preview directly from the microsoft store, and when you open it, it shows a pop-up saying that you should use the normal version, we just clicked on another part of the window within the app, and we were able to use it
Note that, as the popup states, the Tuner X Preview’s Swerve Project Generator (and other features) is not compatible with changes in our kickoff API, nor the kickoff roboRIO image and WPILib. You can check out our SwerveWithPathPlanner or SwerveWithChoreo example until the stable 2025 Tuner X release is available.
Looks like the update just got processed. You should be able to restart the Microsoft Store to see the update. If for some reason it doesn’t work, try resetting the Microsoft Store by
