Help with search results

Hi, I’m Andrew from Team 103, and I’m head of website this year. You can check out our site at www.cybersonics.org.

I have a question in regards to changing search result data. If you Google “cybersonics”, you can see that the blurb about the team is simply a list of submenu options we have. Needless to say, this is not what we want people to see when they Google us! :ahh:
My solution to the problem, I think, is to create a <meta> tag with a content=“Cybersonics is…blurb here” on our index page. Is this the right way to do this?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Yep, create a ‘description’ meta tag with a description that clearly and accurately describes the page. (Ideally, each page should have a unique description, so avoid using the same one for the entire site.)

<meta name="description" content="Cybersonics is a really great robotics team..." />

You can’t guarantee that Google will show that description in the search results, but it’s worth a try.

Thanks!
Also, cute description :stuck_out_tongue:
