Hey Rookies - Introduce yourselves!

Hi All,

This thread is for rookie teams to introduce themselves and tell everyone a little about your team… Here is the info for my new team:

Number: FRC 3945
Name: Cobra Robotics
School: Whites Creek Comprehensive High School
Location: Nashville, TN
Number of students: 15 (hopefully…)
Grant Application(s): JC Penny, NASA
**Corporate Sponsor(s): ** Nissan North America, Inc
Regional Attending: Queen City

**Team Info: ** This team is comprised of students who are currently on a BEST Robotics Team. The BEST team is in its 3rd season right now, with good results, so I convinced the school to join the big leagues this year… Looking forward to introducing the kids to the chaos that is an FRC build season!

Here’s our new team:

Number: FRC 3940
Name: CyberTooth
School: Northwestern High School
Location: Kokomo, IN
Number of students: 12
Grant Application(s): jcpenney
**Corporate Sponsor(s): ** AndyMark, Inc., Haynes International
Regional Attending: Boilermaker Regional

**Team Info: ** We’ve got a new team from Northwestern High School here in Kokomo, IN. We’re being helped by other FIRST teams in the county. Our shop is located at AndyMark. Some of our mentors include Mark Pendergast, Mark Koors, Brant Bowen, and Andy Baker. We’re currently building a robot for CAGE Match, and it’s almost done.

This is the first time I’ve officially been part of a team, but I’ve been around and involved with FIRST all of my life. This is also my first post on Chief Delphi.

Team 3940, CyberTooth, is looking forward to the 2012 season and having fun!

Rachel,

I gotta say that I am jealous… Mark and Andy are awesome mentors for a rookie team, they will steer you right! I am starting the first FRC team in the Nashville area, but finding other mentors has been a trick - they don’t “Get IT” down here yet. Congrats on the team, I am sure you will be well led!

Got kids, space, some money, and tools.

So, we’ll see how this goes

Disclaimer: Not a rookie - sorry to hijack this thread
A very key component to having a sustainable robotics team is making & keeping your partners and sponsors happy.

I’d like to remind everybody that a very strong supporter of FRC and FRC rookie teams is a company known as JCPenney.

That is all.

Please continue your regular introductions - welcome to FIRST*!*

Number: FRC 3931

Thats what i get for copy/pasting (fixed it)

Anyway Iowa State just had its career fair, made sure to stop by the jcpenney booth and thank the guy profusely.
