Hey Scouts, Don't Forget to Upload Robot Pictures!

I just want to put a request out there to team scouts from regionals happening this week, to please share the digital pictures you take of competition robots. In the past there has been a shortage of robot pictures when it comes time for the national competition, but I’ve been thinking: if even one of the scouts at a regional that takes a picture of every single robot turns around and uploads those pictures to chiefdelphi, or some other place on the web, then we will all know what every robot looks like going into the Championships. Nothing like full video/picture/match data on every team to keep everyone well informed.

Full video and match data, you say?

If I’m not mistaken, he also meant full page team overviews with dynamically generated media pages including pictures, match results, and videos.

I may have heard wrong though:cool:

goes to stock up on Mountain Dew (seriously though, I only have Diet Berry Something Dr. Pepper left)

eeewwwww, that stuff is gross

I’m not asking for much… just full video of every match, write ups of every ringer placed by every bot including notation of position on the field in 15 second increments, post round interviews about strategy, up close pictures of each bot and it’s pit, and a copy of the chairman’s essay…really, is that too much to ask?

I looked at this screenshot, and I’m quite interested in the product if it is what I think it is. Any reason for the choice of rolling your own video player over YouTube or Google Video or some other options?

Just to name a few: Mass uploads, editorial control, control of content, flexibility.

The idea behind TBAtv is to have a “one stop” scouting site for all things related to FIRST. It will eventually include tagged images, match results, and most importantly video from all of the events in streaming or downloadable form.

We are in talks with a hosting site now. If all goes to plan, a beta of the site with match data and videos from last year’s championships and winter warzone should be up by the weekend.

We’ll keep you posted.

I’ve uploaded the teams from LA that are going to be at the championship (and didn’t already have photos posted), as well as a few others. If anyone wants more, let me know. We have pictures of 33 of the 54 teams.

We have uploaded pictures of all the robots that were in Milwaukee, Here. It is real easy to upload them to Google Picasa Web. They are making it easier then ever now with increasing the Max Storage to 1GB per user today.

P.S. If someone would like these pictures in a ZIP for a full database or something just send me a PM

I uploaded the teams from San Diego who will be at Las Vegas or Atlanta to CD Media.

I uploaded the robots from Las Vegas going to Atlanta (that didn’t already have pictures on chiefdelphi).

There’s still a lot of robots missing, scouts please start uploading!

PS, I have pictures of a lot of teams from LA, San Diego, and Las Vegas that I haven’t uploaded since they aren’t going to Atlanta. If there is a particular team you’re looking for, let me know and I can upload them.

We have photos from all the Boston teams here:

(about half way down)

We also have all the Finger Lakes teams we can upload as well… just have to find whos camera they were on!

Davis regional robot photos can be found here, while Arizona regional robot photos are here.
