High School Students...

I was just wondering for all you excited high school students what colleges you are interested in, when you plan on visiting them and stuff like that…

Me… I have my heart set on going to Boston College but I’m not sure about my grades though… I have done really well though last year and beginning of this year… I’m only a junior so I got plenty of time… I got lots of tests and stuff to take too…

I am also a Junior and have just started thinking about college. I know I want to do something with Animation and Graphic Arts… usually colleges have different names for these areas…

Some schools I’m considering… Purdue University, Columbus College of Art and Design, and IUPUI if I wanted to stay local. CCAD is out of state, so I don’t know how that would work… it would cost more, that’s for sure. Purdue is probably my top choice right now… but with a 3.6 GPA I’m wondering if I can get scholarships to somewhere… hmm… /me thinks I should research more colleges

Also, if you’re interested in the same stuff I am, look back at this thread

im a juinor <<<Does that suprise you?] and i havent thought much, if at all about witch school to go to, You may or may not have noticed i have Troubble spelling, writing, and i cant even read my own handwriting. But I always get A’s and B’s in Math, science and technolgy, I Would love to go to an engineering school, but i dont have info on schools in Florida, Where Do I get it?

Look at RIT, they have a good graphics/video department, as well as good engineering classes.

Lots of information here, CollegeBoard.com. They are the people who do the SATs.

Writing is integral to any college endeavor.

I’d like to go into emergency medecine, or virology. So, my favorite is UCLA. Or maybe Cornell. Or John Hopkins… Nothing good in state for me though. =( o well.

Yes! UCLA is an awesome choice, though I might be slightly biased. They have a great EMT program for students, which is actually paid too, so a lot of pre-med students take advantage of that. Lots of students going into any kind of science also volunteer and get lots of experience in different branches at the UCLA medical center, one of the top in the nation. Ok, enough bragging from me.

If you have any questions about the school, I’m the girl to ask. I’m pretty good at answering college questions in general (everyone at school calls me their counselor) so anyone feel free to do so. Good luck all with your plans.

I’ve been thinking about college since 6th grade. I’ve been wanting to goto NIT or some other tech school. But as of late (since I’ve started writing), I’ve been wanting to go into english major or some sort like that.

Yeah… I’m looking into business management/accounting and journalism but I haven’t been thinking about it that long… Maybe like 2 years…

I want to go to CALTECH

Miami University, the one NOT in FL…

I’m a senior this year, and so far I’ve come up with the following list:
MIT
Yale
Georgetown
U. Penn
UC Berkeley

In case you were wondering, I have no idea what I’m doing.

you gotta be wicked smart for MIT… That’s good though… That’s where it started…

For any of those looking into Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, take a look at Carnegie Mellon. It’s computer science program is ranked #1 or 2 in the country, and the people here are absolutely amazing! Add on to that the fact that it has probably the best robotics program in the country (maybe even world), and you really can’t beat it.

If anyone has any questions about CMU, feel free to email/PM/IM me.

… Usually it’s a good idea to figure out what you’re going to do before you pick the college… Nowadays it seems everyone picks the college before their major…

haha… yeah true… I want to major in computers, business/journalism…

Oh, by not knowing what I’m doing, I meant I don’t know about the college process. I want to major in biology, engineering, or math.

UCLA
Uc Berkeley
UC Davis
UC Santa Barbara
UC San Diego
WPI
Stanford (.1x10^-10000000000000 chance of me getting in)
Cal Poly
Clarkson

The UC system refused half of its accepted students for the fall 2003 semester, and will likely refuse more in 2004. Keep that in mind. That might be a slight problem for me

Well, I’m fairly certain that most people change their major at least once before graduating anyway, so.

WPI, Northeastern, RPI, RIT, Clarkson, Georgia Tech and UCF
