Hooking on the generator and rung rules

On the switch (shield generator), you are not allowed to grab onto the handle, but on the rung. is there a penalty for a hook touching the handle but not grabbing onto it?

In G26, the HANDLE is listed as one of the few things which may be “grabbed”, “grasped”, or “attached to”. Additionally, it is the only thing which may be “suspended from”.

See section 3 about the actual definition of the HANDLE, but it’s basically the lowest horizontal bar and the square tubing that supports it.

For parts of the SWITCH above the HANDLE, any contact is allowed, so long as it is not “grabbing, grasping yada yada suspending from” (see G26 for the full list).
