Hopelessly behind...

Engineer on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Pontiac Central High School and Delphi Automotive Systems.

I more or less left the house on last Friday Night and
didn’t really get home again until after the ship time
on Tues.

I have had to get my job and home life back out of
whack (or less out of whack at least).

Now I am back online, but I cannot catch up with the
forums.

How many other folks are in the same boat?

I am going to try to get back in the groove, but
basically, I am going to have to let by gones be by gones.

The tough part is over…

…let the games begin!

Hmm… i just started thinking about last week also:

55+ hours spent at FIRST
30+ hours spent on one hellish class
10+ hours spent on other schoolwork
30+ hours spent at school
15+ hours spent at work

leaving me with… 28 hours to sleep… the entire week… exactly four hours of sleep per night.

Kind of a crazy week… but what would FIRST be like if it was easy? Come on people, you know we live for that last week of crazyness where you are working on the bot at 2 AM

Alrighty, enough rambling.

can’t wait to see you all in hartford!!! 6 days

What’s sleep? And where can I download it?

We call it “Hell Week”, because it truly is hell. But hey, it’s all worth it.

Pretty much everyone was in a rush for shipping… so there were no real serious discussion happening the past few days.

There were a lot of picture posting on the forum, people showing off their robot, and lots of complain about not enough sleep.

But a few important issue came up when a few teams actually had practice matches among each other. It turns out it is hard to balance two goals in a fast match, really hard for 4 teams to talk the game out in a short time, and the scores of each match have been really low.

One more interesting thing is that a few teams are showing they are capable of balancing two goals with 4 big balls on them, and a decent amount of small balls in the goals. There is no telling if that will happen in the real game.

But other then that, you didn’t miss much.

I figure I’m worse off than that. Not only did I have to work on the robot (ok, I was doing mostly administration stuff but still), I also managed to get sick right AFTER ship (as in Wednesday). At least classes have ended but that means that I’ve got to go to finals while sick. This is gonna be a long weekend (stupid finals). And there’s still a bunch of administrative tasks to be done before I go home on break (Monday). We still don’t have t-shirts or an agenda for travel to NJ among other stuff. I guess I’ll get it done somehow…

Matt who’s feeling really icky and has a final in two and a half hours…
