We stayed at a Comfort Inn for Pheonix Regionals it was actually a pretty nice hotel From the first day we got there, the head manager didn’t like us. We were supposed to have like 12 rooms reserved for the team… there are over 30 of us… but the manager only reserved 8, so our head mentor had to pay for his own room…somewhere around $200 for the two nights. Then, there was another all boy team there from North Dakota and no offense to those North Dakotan Cuties, but they weren’t exactly on their best behavior…Everything they did that was mischeivous…my team got blamed for!! (That manager had it out for us from the start!) Then horror of all horrors…a few of us were being kinda loud in our room and at about 1 a.m. one of the mentors from their team (they were in the room next to us) came and just barged in to our room without permission and threatened to go to the manager if we didn’t shut up!! She must have been almost 50… AND SHE WAS BARELY DRESSED!! oh it was bad!! I pray no one else ever has to see that… But hey, the water was clear and the pool worked so it wasn’t all bad;)
that’s majorly harsh.
Yeah, the most horrifying thing about our hotel was the “computer room” as they called it. HA! more like computer closet. And it had one computer- windows 95 - 56K - with… AOL! I almost died.
Our Hojo Express had a computer…it ran Linux g I already posted the horror stories in ‘Hojo Express’
A hotel which will remain nameless had brown water running out of the faucet, a cold pool, a broken elevator (for maybe 12 or so hours), interesting food…, and broken vending machines that ate up all of my quarters. But otherwise, it was fine.
eeeewwwww!! Brown water!!:ahh:
we stayed in i think it was the ramada on katy freeway in Houston this year. they told us it was nice and right by the galleria… right. when gwen and i turned on our heating-cooling unit, it shot 2-foot purple flames, melting all its own wires! then they moved us to another room. the water ran brown, water gushed out of the mini-bar, we had to take $20 collateral to the front desk to make a calling card call, the floors were sticky, the keys didn’t work, everything smelled bad, we were in an incredibly sketch neighborhood across the street from a half-abandoned strip mall, and we couldn’t use the pool the whole time we were there because there were weird toxic chemicals. to top it off, a room for 4 was almost $300 a night and we were a good 45 minute ride from the stadium. w00t.
what hotel was that again…so i know never to stay there… you should see the look on my face right now… :ahh:
The pool at the Doubletree Post Oak Hotel in Houston was NOT filled!!! What the crap???

The pool at the Hojo was filled…and INSANELY COLD! I went in the first night I got there…brr. I got in the next time a few days later fully clothed. Still cold…but I had more insulation (BTW…Converse All-Star Hi-tops aka Chucks don’t make very good flippers)

I would have had a lot more fun if the pool had water in it - cold or otherwise.
They don’t?! Oh man…There goes all of my dreams and asperations…or something…or not.
I never go into hotel pools unless it’s Disney. Why? It’s just me… I’m freaky like that.

the pool at guesthouse something or other was covered in a film of a substance similar to oil… whatever it was, i would have rathered a pool without water… atleast you can pretend to swim in that
a lot of the rooms also had plumbing problems… ours didn’t tho. and the ceiling above the shower looked like it was about to fall…
the tv’s were bolted down, so we had to turn the cabinet it was on around so we could play ddr… in amongst all of that excitement of playing ddr, i jumped on the bed and tried to turn, landed partly on the other girl on the bed, and as i sat back and laughed at myself, i fell off the bed nailing the wall and then the floor… i have a very large bruise on my lower back now… and yet again, i provide amusement for being clumsy
…and there was nothing good on tv… lol, although we found like, 4 spanish soap operas that i was “translating”.
oh, there was no ice in the ice machines
…i can’t think of anything else right now
How about breakfast?
It basically consisted of bread formed in different ways, plus a little juice and fruit.
I hate continental breakfast >:(

OH, SO YOU DON’T WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW IT WAS THE RADISSON ASTRODOME HOTEL? OK, I’LL KEEP IT QUIET
He, He:D
In all honesty though it wasn’t that bad… of all of our teams rooms, one (mine) didn’t have brown water (phew)
P.S. You forgot… the hot tub was colder than the pool (people tell me) and both were suspect of being ditches flooded with sewage.
Well, the Demolition Squad (267) stayed in the Renaissance Houston Hotel, and we were all really psyched for the “jacuzzi and indoor pool.” On Wednesday night, three of us walked around the hotel for an hour looking for the supposed indoor pool and jacuzzi, but we could only find one outdoor freezing cold pool. Finally, we asked the front desk where the indoor pool was, then they simply replied with “oh, we are renovating and were are GOING to have an indoor pool and jacuzzi, so we just put it on the brochure now.” Talk about a con! Oh well, we just hung out at Heatwave’s hotel instead…it worked out better in the end.

Shhh! Wouldn’t want everyone to know! laughs
No, it wasn’t the Radisson Astrodome Hotel…it was a different hotel…still nameless though…
The water restored itself to a “normal” color after we ran it for a minute or so:p
In the Best Western we played frisbee in the hall… It hit the fire alarm… It sounded, we went outside, then got the all clear… Then for the next hour it kept going off…
Pin Man: Your team played capture the flag with mines one of the nights…
yeah we had a huge game going
Yup. I couldn’t catch one of your team members with my flip flops on, so I took them off and ran on the parking lot barefoot…ended up sending him to my team’s prison…but it wasn’t the best idea b/c I ended up pulling a muscle in my foot…weird but true…
