We’re using these cameras from Arducam, does anyone know where I can get a housing for cameras like this? My Google-fu hasn’t returned much.
You could do something like this from team 3206. Alternatively, several open alliance teams have build threads with linked CAD where they had Arducam housings and mounts.
Assuming you have a 3D printer, you could look at the cases on yeggi or Thingiverse and print one of those. Plenty of options depending on what you want the housing to do.
I copied the 3206 one and added a few features here: Coprocessor - Google Drive
There’s a link to my Onshape doc in one of the docs.
We designed a 3D printed case that integrates the Orange Pi 5, cooling fan, and camera, all into one package, similar to the limelight. We haven’t fielded it on a robot yet, but we should have the opportunity to give it a real shakedown at an offseason event in the next few weeks. It’s a great project to assigned to a newer CAD member, and I recommend taking a pass at it, but we’ll post ours soon .
Here is a model I made:

It is based off this model:

I’m definitely preferential to this one as I designed the one it’s based off of
If you can add some ziptie holes to this that would be good, those Arducam cables are notoriously weak. I think I killed 4 or 5 last season.
What screws does this use to put the halves together?
We also recently killed an Arducam cable, but couldn’t find any replacements online. How did you replace the cables you killed?
Its a JST to USB cable. You can crimp a new connector on a different USB cable. I dont know what kind of JST unfortunately. I would guess PH or XT
We contacted Arducam and Uctronics (?) their distributor and they were able to get us cables for a few bucks each. Would not recommend trying to crimp them yourself.
It’s unfortunately smaller than either of these for the Arducam ones, and you need to crimp 5 wires to do this. Probably ZH. Definitely would just get another cable or desolder the header on the board and solder the USB leads directly.
Have you guys posted this CAD yet? We are looking for an all in one case similar to this for our set up.
This and a few other listings seem to be the same cable.
Alibaba is a generic site for buying custom components, so there’s a lead time involved and they’re not COTS.
We actually did complete the case, but it hasn’t been tested on a real robot yet, and I don’t want to put it out into the world and have it damage hardware (I’m concerned about thermals). If you’re interested in what we have now, I can send by DM.
Yea if you could send it to me anyways that would be great! I really appreciate it!
We were sent our batch of arducams without USB cabls so ive been tryig to find them for ages (several other manufacturers use the smae connecotr an pinout so we were lucky enough to scavenge exactly enough). Guess i should have just asked.
Same here, ive been trying do do something similar and some reality checking would be nice.
