How are districts helping teams deal with short turnarounds for worlds?

With several district such as NE and FIM having DCMP the weekend before Houston, I’m curious what, if anything, the districts have been doing to address the short turnaround time between the events. I know NE is doing a pre-qualification system, where at the end of week 6, 16 teams can bypass DCMP and qualify straight for worlds based on district points, and all of the award winners will find out then. A final 3 spots will be given out at DCMP to the top 3 teams after the event based on district points to give teams a chance to qualify out of DCMP. I’m curious if any of the other effected districts are doing something similar, or if it’s sort of a “just plan as if you’re going and cancel if necessary” type deal.

FIN has told teams that RAS, Chairmans, and EI will be announced prior to DCMP (Week 5 or 6 I think) to give those teams time to prepare. I think there will also be a FedEx truck at the DCMP venue to allow qualified teams to ship their robot directly to Houston.

Will find out more after the pre-DCMP call tonight.

That’s what my team is doing.

I forgot to mention NE is doing something similar as well. Glad they’re helping with that logistical hurdle, getting 125lb robots to Houston within 3-4 days is a bit of a yikes on its own.
