Where is everyone around these parts going??

We’re trying to decide right now between the J&J Mid-Atlantic and the UTC NE Regional… The last two years the team has attended J&J…

Basically, both are sincerely awesome competitions… Pros of the J&J is the venue… it felt awesome to be back in front of a gym crowd again… i had forgotten what it felt like on stage! Cons of that is the distance away… we start making the trek at 2 or 3 on Thursday morning to get there (and save $$)

Pros to the UTC is that it is where most of the teams that we (college kids) come from compete (126, 177, 97, 190…etc…)… it’s closer in vicinity to us (much shorter ride)… and, it will give us the longest time until our next competition (nationals) and that has a huuuuuge effect on college kids being able to attend… and if we can go to engineer/chaparone/etc, then there is no chance of the HS kids going! Cons: the arena… (but I really don’t think it’s that bad… maybe cause we won gold on that stage… but at least we have a competition and a great sponsor for it!!!)

So what about the other east coasters…? Which one for you guys… some people travelled to VA last year, you going back?? Anyone going to try out New York? Philly??

Since we’re about 30 minutes from New Brunswick, NJ, we’re definitely going to the Mid-Atlantic.

I’ve also been thinking about making a push to go to Virginia or Philly, just as a change of pace.

I agree with you though, the Mid-Atlantic regional has a nice ‘stage’ feel to it, best place to spectate by far. I’m not just saying that because I’m a Rutgers Alumni.

Amy,

Well - just so everyone knows… Team 246 decided on attending the UTC Regional and the National Competition… we can’t afford to do anymore… but hopefully I will be travelling to check out some of the other ones!
