How cold is it in Deep Space

OK I know it is much colder but this is cold too. This morning on the way to work.

Background temp is 3 kelvin in places like interstellar space.
The Thermosphere around Earth reaches around 2,500 C as measured by the particles of gas, however because of the dilute nature of gas that high up the temperature as measured via thermometer would read well below 0.

Space is very cold and very hot. Depends on whether you’re in sun or shade. Ask any astronaut.

I remember a few days like that when I lived in Ottawa. Of course, on one of those days, I had to stand out side and wait for the bus to get to work. My car wouldn’t start because the appartment didn’t have a place to plug in the block heater. The engine oil had turned into tar.
