I never realized how tall the highest rung of the pyramid was. How did people safely get robots off the top rung of the pyramid, which is 7.5 feet high?
There was a belay system, FTA/FS worked it as I recall.
Not many made it to the top level. A good many that did fell off, making retrieval easy.
Ours made it up, it was possible to hold it from the bottom, push it up and off the hooks we had. They had a spring latch you could push back against to release it. The red hooks were static, the white/clear part would move as needed to get up and over a bar.
We had 1/4 of a pyramid in the lab to test with and some tall students. This was our team captain that season for height evidence.
How we climbed required us to swing a bit so we had to explain the spring hooks to field staff. The red hook was on a moving arm but the spring hooks were attached to the frame so if you only had the red hooks on the bar with no power it could drop hard. Had to get both hooks off together
