How do multipliers combine???

Engineer on team #67, HOT Team, from Huron Valley Schools and GM Milford Proving Ground.

There has been some confusion within our team as to exactly how the multipliers combine. A couple of members were under the impression that they added. A couple of others thought that they multiplied. I have looked for a clarification for this in the rules and have not been able to locate one. Is the maximum multiplier 7 (2+2+3) or 12 (2x2x3)? I am looking for hard evidence here!

Thanks in advance!

The way that I read it, as it is described in the manual, is that for both goals it is a 4x multiplier, and then the x3 for the timer…so, while this is not the official word, I would say that the max would be 12x…as long as you don’t include the 1.1x…

Jim,
It is my understanding that the multipliers multiply. I the game portion of the manual (Pg. 3, The Game), they say that the 10% is multiplied to the total alliance score for the one team that has their colored ball on top. If the 1.1 (10%) multiplier is multiplied, then why not multiply the others?
