How do you manage homework and robotics?

I do my homework whenever I have spare time, that is, before school, during lunch, during class, and during my waste-of-life 4th period computer programming class. If I need to do something at home, it’s up 'til midnight or later for me!

Homework and the Night become accustomed to each other

I have straight A, until the build season, then they drop to Fs and Ds… After build season I manage to raise my grades up to Bs.

Its simple…I dont…

Things to do:
-Sleep
-Work on some more autodesk
-eat
-World of Warcraft
-Go to school

Homework just cant fit…

This being my second robotics season I feel no worries about my grades. A team 234 requirement is to get good grades, keep in touch with teachers, and get help when needed. If do not comply- No robotics (which is to close to my life to let go) I feel I have benefited from robotics by having excellent assistance in areas where I have needed help from other team members and mentors. All of these outside sources compiled into one answer- better grades during robotics season!

track is monday wednesday and friday for now then its everday
swing club is thursday

I go to track monday robotics tuesday and wednesday swing club thursday track friday and robotics saturday and sunday and I do homework when I get home or during other classes

I just go to all the robotics meetings, get homework done in class, never take it home, go to robotics, otherwise, my life would suck, because robotics leaves me practically no time to my self days there are meetings. Don’t really go to anything else anyway, except Japan Club whenever it is held, but that is right after school, robotics later.

while I program on my laptop, I’m also working on essays, I do homework during class when given and during lunches, in the morning, and gosh I guess I don’t take an actual break do I? I’m not even in honor classes.

robotics dosent start until five-thirty so i have time to go home and do my hw before robotics. so its not a big deal at all and if we ever need help theres a bunch of smart people that can help us so hw isnt really an issue at all. cyber blue 234

I do something called homeroom work, if it cant be done in homeroom I do it during any free time, and carry my backpack everywhere.
Every assignment I get I give it a rating, 1 - 5 minutes or less ll the way up to 5 - atleast an hour. Then I schedule accordingly. 1-2 are done in hr, while 3-4 done in study hall/during classes, 5 done at home. Sometimes waking up a 5 am and doing my homework then is the only solution. Yet I keep my straight A’s and a 99 on Science midterm!

Our robotics team doesn’t start working until 5:30, so I do most of my homework when I get home after school. As a member of team 234 I am required to keep good grades and stay in touch with my teachers about homework and get help if needed. If someone needs help with homework we can bring it to robotics and get help there from other students. I also seem to get better grades during robotics season because I am always thinking.

I tend to have that sort of problem also. Personally, I try to cram everything in between lunch hours and classes. Keeping ears open for lectures and doing another class’ work at the same time–only if the teachers would allow it. Sometimes I would skip a day of homework because of how exhausting it is, but in the end, I’m sure it’ll be worth it.

It just depends on how you prioritize yourself along with how determined you are. You might end up getting use to it. I have.

amazingly even with a couple classes with daily work, art projects and nearly weekly spanish tests i still maintain A’s and B’s  . but this week i feel like im dead with a big art project due and i am no where near done :frowning:

Multi Tasking is a great way to finish homework especially if your on the computer.

It does take some dedicated effort to do homework and robotics, but robotics isn’t till 5:30 and so I have about 2 hours, before, to do homework and i have some time after robotics. So I think theres still reasonable time. cyber blue 234

It’s a breeze to get regular homework done even with FIRST, but that requires killing most free time. Big projects however, are near impossible. The last one was a presentation, and my teacher let me go last (because of FIRST), and I was barely done even a week+1/2 extra time. :ahh: I’ve got a research paper coming up, but luckly most of the work can be done after the build season. If you are overloaded during the build season, don’t be afraid to tell your teachers. They’ll most likely be reasonable.

im up till four usually finishing homework… tis hard on mee

home work?
Extra Activities?
During First all of thees get pushed to the wayside
who needs good grades when you have a robot

Our school day ends at 2:30 and we start up at 5 in the evening. That allows students to get some homework done. We are a Tech Center so by 2:30 the students have gone back to their home schools. They then come back at 5 pm. Also, I recommend they have books with them in case they get some down time. Soometimes they do not come if they have too much.
We are now on 7 days a week and a team of 12. Most nights we have 6 kids or so there. We also feed our kids each night. Sometimes parents bring food but most nights teachers/secretaries/maintenance and aides at our school bring meals. We use a signup schedule. Kids don’t like to miss since we really feed them well.

I found out that I have the least amount of time for homework on weekends (with church commitments)! Everything I can get done during the weekdays are usually most of what I get done.
