How have I not discovered Doctor Who?

Wow, I would’ve loved this show as a kid. 11th doctor is definitely my favorite but the 10th is really close. Older doctors didn’t really hit it off for me.

Such a good mix of comedy and the seriousness of an individual who lives for millennia.

I have quite a bit of Doctor Who merch all over my bedroom, it literally is my # 1 favorite show of all time. I have been watching it for so many years.

Speaking of dream products we all want, looking for a supplier to release their sonic screwdriver.

It’s insanely hard to choose one Doctor as my favorite but my top would have to be: 4th, 8th, 10th, and the 12th. David Tennant is such an amazing actor as the 10th Doctor but he also is incredible in many other shows and films, particularly Good Omens and the 2009 Hamlet film. He would have to be one of my favorites actors of all time.

Summer CD is giving us a lovely sunset.

I started watching the Doctor when it was Tom Baker.

Douglas Adams (Author of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) was a script editor for season 17 and a writer for a few things like Shada, Pirate Planet and City of Death.

Being a big H2G2 fan I decided to read the book adaptations of his and watch that season and it made me want to watch more.

Tom Baker later makes an appearance in Douglas Adams Hyperland as an early version of an AI butler.

I love seeing what they thought the future might be like in 1990. They had more right than you’d think.

Micons (Pre - Gifs), Non Linear interactive media, rabbit-holing down a topic from random connections (Wikipedia or googling late at night), VR in everyday usage for fun and work, etc. What a duo those two were together.

There was a reference at IRI many years ago to Dr Who during the evening entertainment. Maybe 2007 or 2008. I don’t remember what the entertainer was doing, but he called for suggestions from the audience and someone said “Dalek”. It was clear the entertainer didn’t know what that meant, but he went with it.

(See, everything can somehow be related to robotics.)

I discovered Doctor Who when I was like 13-14 when I stayed home alone during the summer and would leave the Sci-Fi Channel on all day while I did other things and they’d have these 1-day marathons where each day was a different show most of the day. Absolutely loved it, discovered many lessor known science fiction shows, mostly from late 90s early 00s, like Seven Days, The Sentinel, Jake 2.0, Special Unit 2, Early Edition, Sliders, Dark Angel, and more. As well as more popular ones like Doctor Who, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Tales from the Dark Side, Threshold, Stargate, Eureka, Warehouse 13, X-Files. Though some of my favorites still have to be ones my father introduced me to, even if just talking about them like Firefly and Farscape (Jim Henson’s Bizarre Space Puppet Show!).

My favorite Doctor is absolutely Tom Baker, followed closely by David Tennant, then Matt Smith.

Season 16-17 of the old school Who is worth the watch just for the season long story arc and Douglas Adams episodes.

I have the universal remote one and it’s awesomeee

If anyone’s a reader more than a watcher:

This is a pretty sweet deal. Yes… Doctor Who role playing games books are part of the bundle.
