isn’t it amazing that we are all so facinated with how long we can manage to deprive our bodies of oxygen before giving in to the impulses that over millions of years have evolved specifically to prevent us from doing such a thing?
HI DAN HOW LONG CAN YOU HOLD YOUR BREATH NOW?
I have heard that a majority of asians by default have narrower lungs/veins/whatever… A doctor told me when my dad had a heart attack… anyways, I can hold my breath for about 40 seconds…
1:10.
Forgive my ignorance (I’m a flutist, I should know this), but how does one do circular breathing?
i am pracicing for diving. I can hold my breath for about 3 minutes normally and my all time record is 5 minutes 6 sec wow that was long. i like contests too. feel free to email ir im me at breathholdchamp@aol.com thanks :)

My record is 6:24. I have been free diving for several years, that has always been fun.

WOWOWOWWO BILL !! HOW CAN YOU HOLD YOUR BREATH SO LONG? DO YOU HAVE CONTESTS?
w00t. much hyperventilation, but 132 seconds.
terrific. now i’m dizzy.[/wheezing]
yeah, i was first chair clarinet in band for a while, and i was in girl’s show choir, not to mention all the years of swimming i did, and still do in my pool. i was once able to go 50 yards without breathing (sprints), but that was back when i was in shape. so for now, i’ll take my 132 minutes and be quite proud of myself.
I used to play the trumpet back in middle school, and i remember doing the circular breathing. I can’t do it naymore though, I haven’t played a trumpet in 7 years or so.
I start holding my breath =
One minute later =
after that =
realizing that I must release =
After the whole challenge =
I can hold it for about 70 seconds.
To bring this dead thread back… one more time… (Sorry. I didn’t see it during either of its first two lives.)
With a little hyperventilational prepping, 2 minutes even. (If I hadn’t been watching a clock, it would have been less, I’m sure.)
54 seconds.
Another one is: How long can you hold a piece of paper on a wall using only your breath blowing on it?
About 4 seconds. (Every time I tried to time it by looking at my watch before starting, I couldn’t even get the paper to stay. I had to resort to just blowing, and then after I was done blowing, count for the approximate length of time I had blown.)
For one whole match and until the scores are released.
You’d better hope the refs don’t have any controversy to deal with!
I might turn a little blue or red which ever side im on. LOL
I’ve held mien for over two minutes, both in and out of water.
I don’t remember my best time, but I stopped probably before I needed to because I was afraid I might pass out.
Woo, 11 seconds!
Upgraded to 12.
I know for a fact I can hold mine for 199 seconds lol it’s probably because I’m on the swim team and I swim 6 days a week
>180 seconds but then people start to gather and they break out the resuscitation devices…
90 seconds, I dont practice everyday so im happy with my score.
