What would be the best option for getting the coral in auton?
You can also feed coral from the coral station during auto.
Human player station. Its available and stays out of the way of your partners.
Check on where the HP has to stand in AUTO
the issue for that is if you dont have vison like us (most likely) then using the coral station is very risky because they can easily not end up in the same spot
You could pick up the ones dropped from feeder stations, along with the one you can start with. It would be important to prioritize the tallest ones due to the more points in auto being given.
but the coral most likely wont land in the same spot every time, even if they are in the rolling it down the same slot
Interesting, but impractical to have more than 1.
G402 *Let the ROBOT do its thing. In AUTO, a DRIVE TEAM member may not directly or indirectly interact with a ROBOT or an OPERATOR CONSOLE unless for personal safety, OPERATOR CONSOLE safety, or pressing an E-Stop or A-Stop. A HUMAN PLAYER feeding CORAL to their ROBOT is an exception to this rule.
There are two loading stations, and 1 human player at each of them. In the case that there are 3 robots wanting to get extra gamepieces, one of them can either use the floor or just have a fast human player.
i agree that going for L4 is def the best option, but the starting config for the coral is so annoying that it makes getting more coral kinda difficult without vision
I missed that E has exception for the HP in D.
Yes
There seems to be an error in G429:
C. a HUMAN PLAYER may not contact anything outside the area in which they started the MATCH (i.e. the ALLIANCE AREA or PROCESSOR AREA),
as it implies that a human player cannot start the game in the Coral Station Area, contradicting 6.3.1 D.
There’s a weird contradiction as to whether the human player station is part of the alliance area or not. The image highlighting the sections implies they’re separate, but the phrasing in the rule underneath it states they’re both part of the same zone.
Coral Station Area is part of the Alliance Area.
Like how at my team’s shop, the Electrical Room is part of the shop, but we can close the doors to make it a fully separate section.
I’d play it as a sub-section of Alliance Area, one without a Human Starting Line.
You’d need some kind of vision system to target coral, as you wouldn’t know where they’d fall if dropped from the HP station.
It’s not allowed. In Section 7.4.1 Auto, Rule G401 it states, “In AUTO, a DRIVE TEAM member staged behind a HUMAN STARTING LINE may not contact anything in front of that HUMAN STARTING LINE, unless for personal or equipment safety, to press the E-Stop or A-Stop, or granted permission by a Head REFEREE or FTA.” Human Players are considered drive team.
