How to get corporate or big sponsors

How do you get corporate or big sponsors? This would help some rookie teams. Team 1323 has an engineering firm and community sponsors

Ask. Many companies have outreach programs. Others may have grant money. Ask, apply, figure it out. Knowing employees can help, too.

Don’t rely completely on one big sponsor, though. When they can’t support you anymore, you need something to keep you going, and it’s best if you already have some foundation. Also, that may help you, as the company sees “They aren’t just trying to get money from us, they’re getting it from xyz as well. This is a good thing.”

1323 appears to be a better-than-average sponsored team, as you’ve attended two regionals and the championships for the past two years. You’re obviously doing something right already - keep on doing it.

Also see several other threads on getting sponsors - use the search engine and look in the NEMO forum.

We are well off, but we need help and money for the summer. In order to expand this program, we as a team need to offer more projects to the kids. Such as build a new cart or CNC out a really lightweight frame and recreate a robot for this years game or previous games. Sponsorship help would be greatly appreciated.

sponership doesn’t come from thin air (does it? :stuck_out_tongue: ).

You need to start working hard to looking for big and small companies around you and see who might be a potential sponser for you. This is determened by whether the company has money to give out as grant, if they’ve giving out grants before and if the company could have some relation to your team/ school/community/robotics/etc. Try to find something commong that can convince the sponsers to give out grants.

And I’m saying this, while I’ve barley done any sponsering in my team, and we really need it.
