I downloaded the client that is on the rev software resources page. This client however does not match the client in the update videos and documentation. It is also missing key features such as the “scan bus” button. If the software page is not the place to get it, where do I get the newest client?
What version did you download? I’m seeing 2.1.1 on the page, which is the latest version.
It says 2.1.1 but when I run it, it’s missing the “scan bus” button which is required to update firmware on older spark maxes per the current documentation
Due to user feedback the “scan bus” button was removed and consolidated in the refresh icon on top bar with version 2.1.
This allows you to scan for additional controllers while on a different tab (basic, advanced, etc) rather than needing to use the network tab to update devices.
In that case, why have I not been able to update my spark max 1.0.376? When I connect to it, the client tell me I have to put it into recovery mode (something I was told shouldnt need to happen) and when I do I am stuck at this:
I click the refresh and nothing additional shows up and if I load firmware onto what I see there, it says it loaded successfully but it doesnt work
That is an original factory firmware that will require Recovery Mode to get the firmware update onto the device. Firmware that is 1.0.384 or later doesn’t require Recovery Mode to update.
You may need to close the SPARK MAX Client, put the device in recovery mode, reopen the client, and update firmware from the network tab to get the latest firmware to overwrite the original factory firmware. We have a few reports of this issue and are working to recreate the error.

1.4.0 or later are updatable from a CAN Bridge device (1.5.0 or later).
That makes sense but how come I cant get any further than the picture I posted above? What do I do from there?
Okay. I’ll give that a shot. Thanks
