How to go about making a turret?

Team is considering a turret using vision tracking to score. How have teams done turrets before? We aren’t actually going have said turret turn much more than 90°.

I do not know your budget, and we have not made one, but Armabot makes a COTS solution that looks to have potential.

There are a lot of lazy susan bearings on amazon. The 7 inch ball this year is easier than in the past. But it is going to take a big shooter to get consistent results so I don’t think you can pass under the control panel in the trench with a good shooter on turret combo. YMMV. The Armabot turret is great by the way. More than needed for this but overdoing that can’t hurt.

There’s some discussion here: Rotating Turret

But a COTS is probably a good idea if you have no turret experience. From what I’ve heard, programming a turret well is just a hard, if not harder than the mechanical aspects.
