Hello everyone currently I am a senior on my team and next week will be my final completion as a student, so I was wondering if anyone had some ideas on how to make it the best one I have been to ever
Don’t make it your last one as a student, or in general.
Understand that if things don’t go well on the field, that isn’t what really matters about your final year as a student. Your legacy will be the impact you make on your team. Do all you can to make a difference and prepare your team for future success, both on and off the field.
Source: had a senior season that wasn’t quite as competitively successful as I would have like but it was a key year in laying the groundwork for strong seasons the next two years. Seeing my team continue to do well and inspire is worth far more to me than any single achievement from my days as a student could possibly be.
I am in the same boat as you. My advice would to take a few minutes and remember where you started. I think everyone can remember their first competition.
Stay as involved as possible, weather that’s giving advice over Skype to your team, staying as a mentor, finding a new team to work with or volunteering at any event. Staying involved is key. If you are anything like the majority of CD users first has had a profound impact on you and it would be great if you stuck around to help others have that same great experience.
I would like to repeat what Brian said, it will be your legacy that matters. When you joined the team I am sure there was some older student that you looked up to and learned from, being a senior chances are they are long gone. Now I am sure there are younger students who know look up to you to, it is your job to inspire them. Leave a legacy on the team that will inspire excellence.
