How VEX is Implementing Live Virtual Events - FUN Show w/ RECF Dan Mantz Tuesday 8pm ET

Join us Tuesday 8pm eastern for The FUN Show with guest Dan Mantz: CEO of the REC Foundation (RECF) and mentor on FRC 3310.

RECF is in charge of running events for VEX and supporting many programs. RECF has figured out a way to hold live remote events and Dan thinks it may be able to apply to FIRST as well! Also more on Virtual Aerial Drone competitions, VEX AI competition, and how FRC 3310 is approaching this season. A great opportunity for both FTC and FRC to hear how another large scale program is tackling events.

Take from FUN Trivia set at $50 to play against Dan! Join Call-in Channel Queue if you want to play live.

I’m sure many already know, but Dan Mantz used to run Rack Solutions at IFI before taking on his current role. He’s a mentor of 3310 and also used to be on 27. Prior to IFI, Dan worked with Paul at FANUC. Having worked tangentially with Dan, he’s a pretty rad dude (his daughters are even better!).

I know many people are confused about the relationship between the RECF and VEX - Dan is going to be one of the best people to answer your questions!

Something that may be of interest to many is how RECF/VEX is running their live remote events. Dan Mantz claims that they have a < 10 ms delay when P2P while competing. This is pretty awesome and I hope that FIRST finds a way to make this happen for FTC at a minimum and possibly FRC. Clip: https://youtu.be/Dp6OWThifgk
