Alright, I know I do this every year at some point, but I just want to see how many people want Brandon to turn on HTML (assuming it’s used properly, and not to toss in 1000 embeded objects).
NO! That would bog down the board more and it would as you said enable people to add extra useless crap that nobody wants to see.
What are the advantages??
I don’t care if 99% of the users want to turn HTML on, I’m not going to do it. It’s too big of a security risk.
I usually do what the majority wants to do, but this is one of the few exceptions.
Boom.
They are of course, right. CD posts would start getting ugly overnight, and HTML is usually a bad idea for a forum of this magnitude.
… and brandon has the same answer everytime you ask it eddie… people can do too much bad stuff and will put on so much unnecessary garbage so it shouldnt be allowed.
I think that even if he did turn on html, the number of tags you would be able to use would be very restricted.
It would mostly be tags such as <b>, <i>… All of which can easly be replaced with vBCode. About the only think which you might be able to do if html was on is to use <center> tags which you can’t do with vB Code. Therefore, there really isn’t much gained.

Actually, you can use in vB3.

And, I could easily add it to vb2 if somebody wanted it.
The difference being <center> is a valid, W3C compliant, tag; <marquee> is not.**
