Human/Computer Interaction Experiment

Hi All,

I am requesting Chiefdelphi’s help for one of my classes. We have to complete an experiment which tests a user’s reading speed/comprehension based on varying levels of text spacing.

I have made a webpage which will conduct this experiment, now i need people to complete it. My goal if for at least 20 people (more if possible) to take the experiment.

The time you will spend on this will be between 3 and 5 minutes, and i ask that if you start the experiment, you complete it (it’s only 3 paragraphs of reading plus a few questions).

For those interested:

Thanks to all those who decide to participate, your help is much appreciated!

that was NOT 3 minutes. more like 1 or 2. i thought itll take longer…

Very quick and kind of fun. Everyone should do it. I can’t wait to find out the results!

I did it in under 3 minutes also. Plus I got all the questions right.

Yeah, took me like 2 minutes…100%

Ditto.

Great Idea! The first one was hard to read. 1 question tho the end paragraphs seemed to be shorter than the first is this true or were they all the same length?

each paragraph had exactly the same number of words, their character lengths were different, but the words were the same.

This is a pretty interesting expirement. I encourage as many people to take part as possible.

Heh… I missed the first one. Wasn’t prepared for a question that detailed. Ok, it wasn’t that bad, but hey… it was hard to read.

THAT WAS COOL

i would of gotten all of them right…but i clicked the wrong one…its like submin OH C*** wrong one.

But nice topics haha network cables…those are always fun…expecially becuase im in hs taking collage courses in networking lol =]

I got all three right… I only read the first one… the others I just clicked done and answered from my knowledge… the questions are too easy as is the topic quite basic… but then again I’ve heard it all over and over in engineering class

Thank you to those who completed the survey!

I have received 30 responses, and due to time constraints must analyze the data now. Anyone else can feel free to take the survey, but your data will not be included in the final report.

Thanks!

Tom Schindler

yeah, i missed the first one from not quite being prepared for the details, and bad memory when not paying attention… 66%
