I must say… that’s one of the best promotional videos that I have ever seen. It captures both the intensity and fun of the competition while exposing the true importance of what’s happening, as well as the skills being learned throughout the engineering process.
It seems like it would be accessible and interesting to people who are otherwise unfamiliar with FIRST, which is paramount.
This is going to be my new go-to video for introducing people to FIRST culture. It’s one thing to try to explain in words the environment during build season and competitions, but it’s a completely different thing to see it with your own two eyes. Short of joining a team, this video is the best way I’ve seen to show what FIRST is like through the eyes of a team member.
Awesome looking video! Congrats to your team and all the others sponsored.
We’ve been looking for CAT to sponsor us for a while now. Do you know how we can also apply to gain sponsorship from them? I did a quick search online but didn’t find anything much.
Thank you sponsors past and present! We couldn’t do it without you and we want to work to bring you closer and engage with the students directly. Even at times when mentors feel extremely stressed to keep everything running smoothly and students are stretched thin by school, robotics, and other activities. The money makes it possible, but the involvement makes it special!
Great video. Congrats to your team and way to go Caterpillar. This succinctly introduces anyone to the FIRST robotics competition and the challenges that students and mentors take on. It captured well some of the excitement and motivation people have for being involved. I particularly like how this is very generic and doesn’t flash Caterpillar all over the place, so I think it is useful for the FIRST community in general. From the start it was very efficient in the words it used to describe the challenge, build season, and competition, and it has the polish of a professional.
