Please do let me know if you’re interested in helping out with this effort, as I’m not going to be able to maintain this all by myself!
For context it would seem like lemm.ee is to Reddit as Mastodon is/was to Twitter, at least in use case, not sure about back-end.
The Lemmy instances are much more interconnected, so anyone from one instance can interact with posts/communities/etc that are not from that instance, so you only need one account.
I’m interested in helping, but what direction do you intend for this community? I ask because I think the threaded discussion format can be valuable for FRC, but there needs to be good moderation, lest this just turn into a repeat of 2016-2020 /r/frc where discussion and support gets drowned out by low-effort memes.
I intend to keep this somewhat akin to present-day /r/FRC, where memes are redirected to a meme community (maybe I’ll create a FRCMemes community later), and keeping the community at least semi-professional. Obviously I’ll allow silliness and tomfoolery, but there’ll be a limit to that to keep the fees clean.
And I’d love to have help! Create an account and leave a comment on my pinned post. I think the stylesheets are screwed up right now, so hopefully that’ll be fixed soon.
Hey, I spend a lot of time working on low effort memes…
Don’t worry, there’ll be a place for that.
Eventually.
