I made a robot design calculator because I thought it would be a fun challenge and I could do some useful stuff that would save me some time. If you wanna check it out, you can get a copy here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pD2lm0G4NEgJfX5yduQPMq37ILjBh6mkQRrLHxopsuE/copy?usp=sharing.
I took a lot of inspiration from JVN’s Mechanical Design Calculator and Paul Copioli’s Useful Calculations spreadsheet.
This is like 90% a rip-off of JVN’s calc, with some stuff removed and streamlined for my personal use, and a couple things added. I think the pneumatics tab is pretty cool, especially the part that tells you the length of the air cylinder & rod end you’re using based on your inputs (if it’s an Automation Direct cylinder). Outside of that there isn’t really a reason to use this calc over JVN’s or any of the other ones out there, I’m just posting it here to see what people think (or maybe someone will point out my math is bad and help me fix it).
Let me know if you have any questions.
