Ideas for Off-Season Awards

My team, Pitt Pirates, and Green Hope Falcons are co-hosting an all-girls off-season competition called Doyenne Inspiration. We are looking at giving awards at the end, so far we have a Gracious Professionalism award and the Doyenne Inspiration award (similar to the Volunteer of the Year).

Were looking for suggestions for one more award. We don’t want them to be exactly like regular-season awards, but any suggestions are welcome!

To find out what awards we come up with, register as a team or individual here :wink:

At the PCH off season event, they have an award for the team that brings the most new members. I forgot what it was called but it’s meant to be a draw to recruit new people to FIRST.

At Mayhem in Merrimack, we have the;

Herbie Award (cutest robot)
Cotton Eyed Joe Award (spirit award)
All that and Bag of Chips (Covers all things technical).

These are the awards that we give at the Rumble in the Roads. We basically took some of the current FIRST awards and rebranded them to match the theme of the event. The major award lesson we learned after the first year was that we needed a finalist award.

Ironclad

Celebrating machine robustness in concept and fabrication, the Ironclad Award sponsored by __________ is presented to a team whose robot has shown true resilience in combat. While their robot may come away from this event with battle scars, this team has built their robot to stay afloat.

Shipbuilder

The Shipbuilder Award sponsored by __________ celebrates form and function in an efficiently designed machine that effectively achieves the game challenge. This team demonstrates a clear understanding of the rules of the game and their robot has been designed to effectively complete tasks with consistency and accuracy.

USS Monitor

The USS Monitor Award sponsored by __________ celebrates innovation in robot components, design, or strategy of play. This team’s unique ideas stretch beyond the norm and reflect creative thinking to effectively achieve their goals on the field of battle.
