If we organized another Robot Reveal Premiere Night - Would your team be interested?

We talked about doing this prior to championships anyways but would your team be interested in submitting a video for a Premiere Night 2.0 Robot Reveal? Would most likely look to mid-early April on twitch.tv/firstupdatesnow to give teams some time. Not sure we could get Twitch Front Page again but still would be a great opportunity to check out teams and their hard work.

Not a lot of details yet but I wanted to get a pulse check here as Premiere Night is a massive amount of work on our end.

Comments and suggestions are welcome. We’re pretty open to how this would be accomplished.

  • Yes and I would wait to release my video (this tend to make it more special since it has not been seen).
  • Yes but I want to release my video ahead of time
  • We have already released a video but you could still show ours.
  • Most likely not interested.

YES, assuming we are still allowed to meet.

With regionals and championships cancelled, teams would have a lot more time to make their robot reveal videos.

Would my suggestion somehow work with this?

Most teams are run out of schools, and many of us are no longer allowed to meet per school/district directive. Some schools in the area have been cancelled outright too.

All sports cancelled at our school. When I told them I wanted FRC to be considered a sport this isn’t what I had in mind >.<

I would be interested in watching.

Just found out an hour ago that all publicly funded Ontario schools have been ordered to remain closed from March 14 through to April 5, 2020. So would be hard for Ontario teams to put together a video if they hadn’t already. Or to create a new and improved version.

How would this work? How would we get you the videos?

If they cancel it then they have to consider you a sport

As of right now all Ontario schools are out for 3 weeks.

For Premiere Nights we have you upload the video to YouTube as unlisted and then fill out a google form with the link.

Thank you

Hey, we made a semi reveal video that would be a lot sweller if we could cut in footage from Week Two. Our video guy would be up for it and he’s starting to train in a Paduan. Or would showing event footage be in bad taste?

Would the applications be more broad? i.e. if a team has already competed and/or there is media of them out there in the wild, is that still okay to submit?

Yeah I think it could be more broad. Perhaps if a team revealed they could then create a year end recap or something of that effect.

I personally think showing event footage is fine. The more chances we can highlight this game (which was shaping up to be a real banger of a season) the better. That being said I did get to enjoy match play, others may have differing opinions.

Got enough responses to know this is something that a majority would be interested in. We’ll come up with a plan to get this moving forward. For now if you have any questions or suggestions please post here. I’ll create a new thread when we are ready.

Considering that our robot is fully operational, we would just need some students and editors. Not too sure how ready they will be as the heartbreaking news hit them pretty hard.
