If You Could Choose Where the FIRST Championship Goes Next Where Would it Be?

I would love to see it in Toronto!

FIRST Championship? I don’t understand.

St. Louis

Philly

Atlanta. Sub divisions in Georgia world congress center, then Einstein in Mercedes Benz, Where the Falcons play, it’s a <5 minute walk.

Iceland. I’ve been meaning to visit, seems cool.

I’d love to see it go back to Atlanta. St. Louis works too.

Would Indy work with the Indiana Convention Center next-door to Lucas Oil Stadium?

Indy Convention Center is an amazing place. It might be one of the best possible venues for a FIRST Championship.

Oooh, agreed. The only problem I could see would be forcing all the US teams going to champs to get passports. There’s too many US teams in comparison to Canadian teams for that to be really feasible, which is sad. I love Toronto.

Hawaii, so I have an excuse to go to Hawaii.

But perhaps a bit more seriously:

Anywhere with an international airport, not-unreasonable-traffic, suburbs with hotels, and warm. I like warm.

Also good BBQ. Will substitute other foods, perhaps. Some local places of interest…

Phoenix, somewhere-florida, the Carolinas, San Jose… ? Maybe even Denver?

I think at this point, I’m actually just describing places I’d like to go on vacation to.

Back to Atlanta.

I want it to be at Epcot. That would be fun.

I’ll throw my hat in the ring for Atlanta, even though I never attended champs there in the past. That new Mercedes-Benz Stadium looks incredible.

Edit: Looks like Atlanta’s soccer league plays there though around this time of year, which may throw a wrench in that idea.

L.A., if somehow the Staples Center could be available (2 basketball and 1 hockey teams, maybe 3 basketball teams?) at the same time as the convention center, OR at that new NFL stadium in Carson.

San Francisco, at a combination of Moscone Center and/or the new Chase Center.

Alternatively there’s SAP Center at San Jose, but it’s on the smaller side. It’d be a good spot for a DCMP though…

When FIRST has all these options and still picks MMP.

While I’d love to suggest Kansas City, I’m not entirely sure it’d work as it currently stands. Bartle Hall (Kansas City Convention Center, technically) has enough space for probably more like four fields + pits, not enough for six (my guess) and FTC would have to be located elsewhere. You can then get a short walk over to the Sprint Center, which isn’t terribly far, and dealing the FTC and FLL could be in other sections of the whole “exhibit center” complex. You might be able to make it work, and KC certainly has the whole “BBQ” thing down  .

Las Vegas

T-Mobile Arena + MGM Garden + Thomas and Mack Center = winning?

Actually, this would probably win my vote.

Warm, central, international airport, venues, wide range of hotel options.
