I’m one of the captains on FRC 2170, The Galvanized Guardians, and we are going to be submitting an essay for the Impact Award for the first time since 2023. I’m new to this process so I was wondering if we could get some guidance on this matter.
You may wish to get started with this content from the Team Management Resources on the FIRST website. The last link (Impact worksheet from The Compass Alliance) may be particularly helpful). If you have more specific questions, ask away!

Are you just starting now? If so I would argue build season is not the time to START your Impact Award submission. That said–if this is your first time and just want to go through the process so you can better prepare next time–go for it.
Yes, we are just starting now. It isn’t ideal but we have a small marketing team, made up of 4-5 students, with 3 being freshman. I’m pushing for the team to go through the process to give those younger students some more experience so when we go into the pre-season for the 2026 season we can begin ahead of time with a wealth more knowledge on the matter.
We did not start until build season last year. It had not been a focus the last few years with the previous coach. It absolutely can be done. Look at the resources previously mentioned and then look at the HOF teams entries. Good luck
