Impact Video File Type and Codec

For rendering the impact award video first says

  • Video file must be in the Quick Time (.mov) or windows Media (.wmv) file format compressed with the H.264/Mpeg-4 codec

When we export from our program (power director 12) we can export .mov but it seems to have no audio. When we export .wmv we can’t see what codec it uses. A little research looks like it is it’s own codec so not H.264/Mpeg-4.

You can export with PowerDirector to any format and codec you’d like and re-encode it later to the format and codec that FIRST requires with a tool like ffmpeg.
