After having been thru 3 Space providers, and just having the last one put popup adds on my site without my permission, I’m looking for a decent place to host our web page. I will eventually move it to our own server, but i have to lay hands on a computer first.
I’m looking for around 20 megs of space, no ad’s, and FTP access for free. Anyone got suggestions?

Not exactly what you’re looking for, but I use a bunch of Tripod and Geocities accounts to store our stuff. Each gives 11 megs and FTP access. I do stay away from Geocities though because they are pretty bad with advert’s are still good for storing pictures on. :-Dan

I have to say that we have been very happy with DenverOnline.
They are not the cheapest host out there, but they are very responsive, they are willing to work with you if you want to do something a bit out of the ordinary, AND they answer the phone at their 1-800 number!
Sometimes you can’t beat talking to someone live to solve a tricky problem.
Beyond this, they have had great uptime. Our old host was constantly having hackers or other websites they hosted bring down their server. We have had none of that.

P.S. I am not on commission

We use need a dot com (http://www.needa.com) and it meets our needs fine. We also registered our domain name thorugh them. Rates are about $25/mo for unlimited site traffic and disk access. There are additional charge for a discussion board. We have used them for about a year and have had no complaints that I know of.
The students who set up the web site linked in a Bravenet (http://www.bravenet.com/)guestbook to avaoid added chanrges. Bravenet is free but does have ads. If you have questions, email the webmaster on our site they have all of the details plus any problems they encountered.
