[IN] Tippecanoe Finals

So before I get talking I know there is already a thread for this competition, but I wanted to recognize the Gracious Professionalism of 1720, 461, and 6498, because they deserve it…

In the after the ending of the semi-finals matches, our team was ecstatic to be going to the finals at our FIRST ever competition. We continued to enter into our first match, place two hatches, then the right side of our drive failed, we were dead in the water. We won the match off a red card which is in no way the way I want to win a match. At the end of said match we called our timeout, we assumed it was a small problem but the E-clip and flanged bearing on AM toughbox
mini broke. So we thought we could fix it in time for the second match. We were wrong. The second match ended and then because of 1720, 461, and 6498’s gracious professionalism they called a timeout for us to finish the repairs. We went on to win the third match and thus the event. These 3 teams demonstrated the great aspects of FIRST and we cannot appreciate it more. I would be more than happy to work with any of these teams in the future. Thank you once more.

Further more, Thank you to 4272 and 3494 for being great alliance partners and giving us rookies a shot!

This wasn’t surprising, the leaders of the alliance captain 1720 are some of the best people I know in FIRST.

Congrats, this wasn’t a fluke rookie win. You guys played great all weekend and earned your result.

I completely agree with what you said about 1720, after working with them in State elims of 2018 when I was on 1741, they were an amazing team to work with and all in all just great people.

Your alliance was incredible and we’d do it again in a heartbeat. Indiana has just all around amazing teams and amazing people. We all want to win but only if it’s done the right way, against a full strength alliance. I have no doubt that any other Indiana team would do the same for us if we were in that situation too. It’s a great community and we’re proud to be part of it.

Great job on the win and we’ll see you at state champs here in a few weeks

Thank you for recognizing this here Reis. I can’t say enough about every team in that finals with us. I had to wipe away a tear after finding out where that extra time came from. It was a whirlwind in the pit, and I was so focused on our team at the time.

Gracious professionalism to the max. You taught our kids a huge lesson that is far beyond robotics.
