At the 30 second mark, the inbounders can start throwing the basketballs over the wall. Can they score? Or will it be like last year that the human player cannot score.
I read through the rules but I didn’t see it.
The real question is, “can they score?”, as in ability rather than in legality. I think, (in a car nack kind of way) that it will happen, at most, three times in season, and once per division at nationals.
I’m trying to remember back to 2006 to how often the human player scored back then. Mostly I remember them wasting the balls alot. I have a feeling if they try to hit the basket from 50 plus feet away with a wall in front of them is not that great an idea.
Sounds more like desperation to me 
It depends who is the human player, because I know of people who can throw accurate and pretty far. But if it is illegal then its not worth wasting the teams time by testing people and seeing who is better. There will probably be clarifications later, but I was wondering if I just missed it.

a. passing though the Inbound Slots at any time;
b. throwing over the Inbound Station during the final 30 seconds of Teleop.Violation: Foul

It would be wasting a lot of balls but if teams want to get the balance endgame points they wouldn’t need to try and score balls. So throwing and possibly getting an extra point could help if it was close.
At the moment, I don’t think there’s a rule that prohibits it, so I’m guessing it’s okay. A basketball in considered scored when the ball passes through the hoop, and nothing is said about the methodology by which the basketball gets to the hoop.
But we’ll have to ask on Q&A…
Someone asked a similar question last year and it was legal, though, of course, that means nothing whatsoever for this year.
In one of the field detail videos, they mention “last minute hail mary” shots and show someone throwing the ball and making the shot at the other end. Would they put that in a video if it was not permitted?
In 2006, wasn’t it legal for a HP to score only in the low goals? I seem to remember it happening, while not frequently, certainly enough that it was not considered a “Hail Mary”.
These balls are heavier than the poof balls. So they can be thrown farther.
Also why is it a waist to try and make it? If you miss then your robot is right there to…
