Hi, #friendsWithRobots! Welcome to the official 2019 Indiana FRC District Overview. Sorry about the delay; here at INsight, we’ve been a bit busy.
The 2019 season is shaping up to be a breakthrough year in the state of Indiana. By adding seven rookie teams, and the return of two teams that did not compete in 2018, Indiana has an 18% growth over last year. Two of the last three years, Indianateams played on the Einstein field. With the 2019 FRC offering being space-themed, and the state being the proud home of the Cradle of Astronauts, look for further proof that there is more than corn in Indiana.

We are all Looking Forward to discovering what surprises Destination: Deep Space will hold.
Few things make me happier than to see this. It was a pleasure working with the folks at Lewis Cass in 2017, and leaving them was one of the more gut-wrenching things about leaving AndyMark and Indiana. It killed me a bit more when they decided to sit out 2018 pretty late in the process.
To revive an old thread, anyone have any predictions for this season in Indiana?
I’ll start with my personal prediction: 1646 will not only play in playoffs at least once at district events, but they will also qualify for State Champs. 1646 has only been apart of one playoff alliance in the past three years. The last time they qualified for State was in 2015 when they were a finalist at one event and semifinalist at another. I believe that this year, they will be a competitive team and a great member to any alliance.
After yesterday, I’d expect them to be an alliance captain at St.Joe given the early week circumstances and how strong they were. Their simplicity lends them a good outlook!
From 1646, thanks for the kind words! We are super looking forward to this season. Having a fairly young team this year so we aimed to build within our limits and hit the mark quite well.
At the center grove scrimmage, 4103 was looking pretty good. 1741 also had a good looking bot, but didn’t do any driving as it was still being completed.
It’s looking like the Purdue Teams (461, 1646, 1747, 4272) all could be very competitive this year. Some are a touch behind schedule, but everyone is really motivated and driven this year, so I’m sure they will get everything finished. Super excited to see them all at Tippy!
I know we may not be fully considered one of the Purdue teams, 7457 suPURDUEper robotics is definitely ready for the season. We look forward to seeing you there at tippy also!!!
1720 and 1501 look good. 3947 has a nice design as well. Looking forward to St Joseph Event to see what exactly 447 has for the game. Our kids are excited about building the bot when we get there! They want to know how exactly everyone seems to have a robot built ahead of time.
5484 is is excited to go to Penn High School this weekend for the St. Joseph Event. Finishing up our personalized gear organizers to give each team attending this week 2 event.
