Infinite Recharge Scoring and Robot Breakdown (Decision Matrix and Cost-Benefit Analysis)

Hello All,

Attached is version 1 of my scoring and robot breakdown for Infinite Recharge. The excel document focuses on helping teams decided what they want their robot to be capable of doing during matches. The cheat sheet includes important definitions, field images, and rules compiled on one page for easy access. The scoring breakdown aims to figure out what the maximum amount of points an alliance and a single robot would be able to achieve in a match. The robot scoring types sheet displays 13 different options for robot capabilities and shows how many points a robot would be able to score given its capabilities. Finally, the decision matrix sheet has 5 measures of merit in order to compare the best 5 robot options. This document does not take into consideration the type of mechanisms that would be needed in order to complete the scoring objectives. This is only version 1, and I will be continuing to update this document throughout the season, adding multiple cost-benefit analysis graphs comparing different scoring mechanisms and drivetrains. All feedback is appreciated. Feel free to change numbers around the decision matrix as you please and let me know if you have any questions regarding how the system works.

Something I messed up and will fix in future versions is that there actually isn’t a limit on power cells scored. According to page 22 in the game manual, the power cells are recycled back onto the field, so scoring is really limited to robot capability, not the amount of game pieces.

Looking at your sheet (thanks!) on Scoring Breakdown/Teleop, you say “score remaining 39 power cells…”. Why 39? An alliance needs to score 40 cells to activate stages 2 and 3.

That was a mistake I made while reading the game manual. I was under the impression that the cells were not recycled back onto the field, which is not the case. I would disregard that section of the excel document.
