Innertubes

Who has seen all of the innertubes shaped like the FIRST logo around the kickoff?
Game hint 2 perhaps???

It is almost definitely Innertubes and tethered minibots

Judging from Dave’s actions. we will also have to stack the tubes

I get there making the first logo, but wats with the yellow innertube?

If you need to stack then perhaps the yellow cancels the stack for points

or locks in logos

pool game!!!

Where can we buy them

I have searched the Manual and I can’t seem to find how many inner-tubes are in the game. Does anyone know how many tubes will be in a single game? Also, how may do the human players have.

<G06> defines each robot starting in contact with an ubertubes and <G10> defines each feeder station containing 3 sets of logo pieces.

Logic would calculate a total of 6 ubertubes and 36 logo pieces.

The game pieces (triangle, circle, square, and ubertube) will be available on the AndyMark website here. They won’t be available until around January 18th.

It looks like we can’t order them until the 18th? Is this correct?

Yes, this is correct.

Andy

So, because of the FIRST Choice being free (minus shipping), if we had other items to add to our cart in addition to the FIRST Choice, and we also wanted the game pieces, would we have to do 2 separate orders? (One for FIRST Choice + other items, one for just the tubes?)

Yes, definitely.

We are not exactly sure when this delivery is coming, but we hope to have them to our location by Jan. 18th.

Each team has one of each size (1 circle, 1 square, 1 triangle) in their kit of parts. So, these three in each team’s kit will have to do until we get the delivery.

Sincerely,
Andy

AndyMark’s home page has been updated to reflect a hopeful(! <-- the exclamation point is AM’s, not mine) game piece availability date of January 24th. It was previously the 18th.

Since they become far less valuable to teams as the build season progresses, I believe FIRST should eat a $1.00 price drop for every week they fail to be available. Thusly:

Week 2: $3.25
Week 3: $2.25
Week 4: $1.25
Week 5: $0.25
Week 6: -$0.75

Hence, FIRST would pay us $0.75 for each game piece we order when they finally show up in Week 6…profit! Sign me up for 1000 of each.

 ^1000

Seriously - good faith PR would dictate doing something along these lines (stopping short of paying us for the pieces, alas) to compensate teams for the lost value of having extra game pieces in their possession earlier in the build. Bring on the discounts!
