In case you missed the announcement in the Team Update yesterday, the Inspection Checklist is now posted on the FRC website.
Thanks for posting this, Al.
One correction I see now:
“____ Starting Configuration - No parts may extend beyond the vertical projection of the BUMPER ZONE. <R02>”
I think that should be:
____ Starting Configuration - No parts may extend beyond the vertical projection of the FRAME PERIMETER. <R02>
Thanks for posting!
Why are there tag numbers under rope inspection? Are ropes going to be tagged?
Yes. See Section 4 MATCH Play, in subsection 4.2.
<R29> States the bumpers can be 5 in. ± 1/2 in. tall, yet the inspection checklist omits the “± 1/2 in”. Is this just to simplify checklist or is a 4 1/2 in tall bumper going to be alarming to the robot inspector?
For the Starting Configuration issue, I asked Q492. Here is response. Must be a long season already for Q&A.
Q492
We just received the Robot Inspector form. It states Starting configuration is inside the BUMPER ZONE <R02>. However, R02 in the manual states starting configuration is inside FRAME PERIMETER. Please confirm which is correct.
Answer:
It’s actually a Zen Koan. “What is the sound of one hand clapping?” “What was your face before your parents were born?” “What is the vertical projection of your BUMPER ZONE, which is defined only using horizontal planes?” It’s intentionally designed to provoke “the great doubt”.
OK, actually, it was a mistake. Good catch! The Robot Inspector form will be updated to correctly reflect R02
