So, who’s volunteering to be an inspector at the regionals? I know I am volunteering for Great Lakes, Midwest, and Nationals. Who else is?
(For those of you that are lost, read Update #19, which talks about volunteer inspector teams)

I personally will be fairly busy organizing our team at competition. But 229 will definitely have volunteers doing inspection.
I think this is a great idea, I’m glad FIRST did it this way.
I’m curious to see what kind of consistency we can expect from regional to regional, inspection team to inspection team.
I’m worried, some teams may be penalized, simply because they got a “nit picking” inspector, versus one that has a more “liberal…” outlook on FIRST rules. An example of this will be light display. I personally feel that any light that is visible is legal. Others take the 4" rule rather literally. I hope that after the 1st week, when the “light fatalities” reach high numbers FIRST will become more lenient with this rule.
I guess we’ll have to see how this pans out.
i’d love to be an inspector in NH But i’ll be attached to the robot .
just seeing what poeple build is fasinating to me … …i hope i can make to everyones pit to chat about there team and robot.
This is a great idea! I think everyone should take a shot at being an inspector. It will give you a better picture of what FIRST is all about. I had the honor of being a volunteer at St. Louis last year and yes also did some inspecting ( Still wondering if the team that had the roll of string on their robot was trying to see if I’d notice.— Yes I made them take it off). I was very impressed with all the teams and their attitudes. Everyone was great. I’ll even take it a step further. Every team should check with the regionals they are attending and nationals and see if they need volunteers. I also volunteered at nationals last year and had a great time. (The male voice in the pit.) FIRST takes care of the volunteers.
See you at VCU, Peach Tree and Nationals!
About the Peachtree Regional. After a bit of research, I found that there were about 12 teams there that would probably have members eligible to be inspectors (Tach has a few too, but that will be addressed later). Of these people eligible to be inspectors, most of them will probably be important members on their team who won"t have enough time to leave their robot and inspect other people"s. Guess we"ll be relying alot on FIRST inspectors…::sigh::
I’d like to volunteer at Pittsburg, but thats all depending on our Post-SLR/Pre-Pittsburg status
