For those of you willing to share, what do your intake prototypes look like? Are you going full width? Mechanum roller? How are you planning on handling multiple balls at once? How are you planning on mitigating jams?
This is a total shot in the dark at getting some inspiration
Look up " 2016 Release Video - Knighthawk" in Youtube, thats what intake we are using, we are re-designing it and making it better but thats what we are using agian because of how well it worked the first time.
I suppose it’s disingenuous to create this thread without sharing something of my own.
Here is what our most recent iteration of our intake looks like in CAD. We are fabricating it (without the paint obviously) out of plastic tubing tonight.
Our main concern is how it will handle multiple balls at once. If two balls were to enter the intake from opposite sides at the same distance from the center, the thought is that they will collide at the center and jam.
Still working on it! hope to spin it up today. It’s wide, though. We are currently thinking of trying a wide ball path from end to end, but until we try it out, all bets are off.
Full width floor intake. Started with Thrifty Bot vectored intakes and stealth wheel in the middle. Now, we’re looking more likely to use a wide roller only to bring the Power cells into a hopper rather than index on the way in.
