i was thinking of doing some cool personal project, i thought about desgining a mechanism for a previous game piece but the problem is that at least for the past 10 frc seasons i pretty much already know what the popular designs were, so it makes it difficult to come up with a unique solution.
so if you have any idea for a cool challenge to work on, whether its from an FRC season or even something from real life i would love to hear
Have you looked at 2021 Game Design Challenge submissions for ideas? Additionally F4 and Inspire NC CADathons are worth checking out since they both generally have detailed game manuals.
Look at what components the popular designs used most frequently and make them illegal for your design challenge.
In games with a lot of the same game piece, reduce the number of them to just a few (I.e. Fuel in Steamworks). Conversely, in games with just one game piece, increase the number (i.e. the Hatch Panel or Cargo in Deep Space).
