Interesting "Terms of Service"

Does anyone actually read these things? Well, I usually skim through them. I recently found this listed among the things users of a certain CAD program must agree to:

  1. You are not residing in or a national of CUBA, IRAN, IRAQ, LIBYA, NORTH KOREA, SUDAN, SYRIA, AND AFGHANISTAN;

  2. You will not use or divert for use, directly or indirectly, any software or technical data relating thereto (a) in any nuclear related activity (civilian or military), (b) in the design, development, production, stockpiling or use of missiles, and/or (c) in the design, development, production, stockpiling or use of biological or chemical weapons;

Shucks, there goes the nuclear reactor I was designing for next year’s 'bot. (Hey, they’re loosening the rules a little bit every year!)

George

George,
When did you become a foriegn national?

lol
Now it would be even funnier if the rules and regulations were only in english…

  1. You are not residing in or a national of CUBA, IRAN, IRAQ, LIBYA, NORTH KOREA, SUDAN, SYRIA, AND AFGHANISTAN;

So as long as I’m only developing nukes for one government it’s OK, right?

Whew, that was close!

LMAO.

That TOS doesn’t really make sense (unless that program is illegal in those [and all of those] countries).

rbayer does have a good point though…you have to live in ALL of them to not use it, not just 1 of them.

Is that even humanly possible?

wow George, you actually took the time to read all that legal mumbo jumbo? I just check the box saying I agree without reading a single word.

Heh, I do the same.

It’s probably not a good idea anymore though

It’s Al-Qaida’s hairy henchman coming to take away my sanity!
