We are finding out that the two window lift motors, both don’t work with the interface that FIRST gave us, only one does. The Jideco motor does not mesh with the interface like the Denso motor. Has anyone figured out why this is or what to do to correct the problem?
I noticed to. The checklist says its correct. I guess you will either have to match that gear, or make your own coupler. If you want a quick and dirty method, fill the larger coupler with epoxy and just place it on the smaller window motor. Should be about as strong as the plastic coupler is…
If you do that put some sort of oil on the gear on the motor first so hopefully you will be able to slide it off after it hardens. For the past two years, we have CNC machined our own steel couplers for the Nippon Denso motors, but I don’t know what your capabilities are.
Our Nippon-Denso motor’s output pinion has 9 teeth, while our Jideco has (I believe) 8. This would certainly explain why the two aren’t compatible with the same coupler. If we end up using the Jideco motor, we’ll probably CNC mill a coupler out of delrin to fix the problem.
