Interview @CERN: Your Time to Contribute!

Hi everyone! This is Alice from Team 3161 Tronic Titans. I am happy to announce that I am currently participating in a CERN Student Programme in Geneva, Switzerland.

If you have any FIRST/engineering/robotics/STEM/career/etc. related questions, don’t hesitate to reply to this thread. You may get a chance to have your question answered by CERN professors, engineers, theorists, and other staff.

Along with International Team Ladybug, FGC Team Ireland, and Team 8795, this interview video will be produced and posted on our social media sites.

Note that the submission deadline is October 4th.
Thank you so much for your contribution!

Can C(S)ERN please clarify what worldline we are in?

Would also be interesting to know what the day to day is for a CERN employee.

Can you tell us about your application process to the student program and also about the project you are working on at CERN?

If you have an advisor, could he tell us about what they study and also what educational and life path they took to get their position at CERN?

Just to clarify: any question would be fine! Simple questions such as:

  • How do you think robotics is a contributing factor to CERN’s scientific investigation?

  • Why is engineering important to particle physics and high energy physics?

  • How is FIRST robotics similar to the machines and robots at CERN?

The interview is for the general public, so questions don’t need to be too sophisticated!
