Introducing the Battlecry Gameshow 2007!

Hello Everyone!

Battlecry is now just a few days away, and the excitement is already building in Worcester Mass and surrounding areas.

As many of you know, each year after competition on friday, there are a whole bunch of fun events that are held in the campus center at WPI. There will be everything from Bowling (real and Wii), to Ice Cream, CRUD, Kareoke, Bingo, DDR, etc…

Of course, at the same time that these other events are going on, we will be having the annual Battlecry Gameshow! In its introductory year, we had a blast as participants competed in FIRST Jeopardy. Last year, we had people packing the room going out the door as we had a blast with FIRST Feud.

This year, the game just got a whole lot more interesting. Introducing the most interactive, the most hillarious, and most entertaining gameshow that we have put on yet…WHEEL OF FIRST!

I know most of you are thinking of ol Vanna White turning the letters on the board and so on and so forth. If you think this is going to be some glorified spelling bee with a massive wheel…you are sorely mistaken!

The WHEEL of FIRST will bring various suprises and categories. Imagine playing a hybrid of Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right, Pictionary, Jeopardy, and Hollywood Squares. Then…throw in two more completely off the wall categories named “Dare” and “FIRST Idol”, and now we have a game.

Folks…this is one event you DO NOT want to miss.

Are you brave enough to take a spin, win raffle tickets, and laugh your little patutes off?

Friday night in the campus center…we will find out.

Hope to see you there!

Do you have any other info? Like what time it starts and what you have to to do play?

Essentially…it starts after matches end and I get over to the other building. To play, all you have to do is show up and I’ll probably pick you out of the crowd at some point. Its a very relaxed kinda thing.

Great time to be had though!

:frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

So sad I’m staying in Watertown Friday evening to see Ted and a bunch of other 237ers graduate.

Someone video tape the games!!!

Oh…there will be video of the events, I promise you.

This is gonna be way too funny to not catch on tape.

oh no! I heard there was a tape of last year’s final karaoke sing a long… and I’m not too sure ANYONE wants to hear that again!

And of course, rumor has it that some of those who were featured on said “video” of last year’s kereoke…might be making a special guest appearance in a major role at the game show.

Were these people who were in the karaoke already contacted, or will there be a “psst, you need to be here tonight!” type of thing at the event?

So where is this exactly?

Or is it a kind of, ‘if you have no idea what we’re talking about, then you probably don’t live in the area’ type thing?

Now in its 8th year, BattleCry is an off-season FRC competition held each June at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts (home of the 2007 world champions FRC 190). It’s a lot of fun, starting around 4pm on Friday and continuing through Saturday. Besides some fierce competition there is a BBQ supper, an ice cream social, lots of games and activities on Friday night (which this thread is about), a human player competition on Saturday and it also usually involves some FLL or Vex robots at one point or another. NEMO also holds workshops in conjunction with the event. www.wpi.edu/+battlecry

And the karaoke references are to when a large number of New England FIRSTers all sang Love Shack by the B-52’s on Friday evening at BattleCry@WPI.

And where is Atascadero?

Wasn’t that a character from the movie/play Grease? lol

Hahahaha!!! Fun stuff. Jack Kentfield hittin’ the extreme low notes, the Sam twins hittin’ the highs, and myself & everyone else covering the notes inbetween.
w00t! Still sad I’m gonna miss all the fun of Friday night’s excitement at BC. :frowning:

All the “judges” for the gameshow have already been contacted and confirmed. However Art, I personally feel you are gonna have more fun playing this game! This game was custom made for people just like you!
